Written by Peaches: Personally, I’ve never seen another artist capture the scene or aftermath of a catfight as well as CattyEssence can.
The structure and composition pulls you into the moment and no matter where your eyes fall you find yourself being told more of the struggle that is taking place. From the angles in which a hairpull bends their neck, to the shape of their bodies twisting together you can truly feel the fight. The pose and expressions on the faces of the rivals is an absolute highlight of their work.
Even with plain backgrounds the subjects tell the full story, yet when one is added the atmopshere only grows and draws your imagination even deeper. Take one look at the image I dub “Raining Slaps” to see what I mean; the aggression portrayed with fistfuls of hair and pained, gritted teeth, is completely matched by the ferocity of the pouring rain. You can practically hear it.
The way they colour and shade each piece of art is masterful in their choice of media and the level of detail has never disappointed; you can really see the weight of a breast as it thumps to another.
