What Do Readers Like: Turned On? Or Not?

On May 6th,2019 of last year, I posted a topic in the General Discussion thread (for stories) on FCF. I want to share the results of that thread here for two reasons.

  1. So that our writers, who might see this post before that one, can see how varied the FFF (female fight fiction) audience is.
  2. And second, so that that same audience can see why writing stories can be fraught with difficulty. As pleasing everybody is nearly impossible.

Here was the question posed:

Which of the following best describes your tastes?

  1. You like it when the women fighting in a story are turned on by each other and the fight they engage in.
  2. You like when the fight turns them on, but generally, they don’t find each other attractive and desirable.
  3. Or lastly, you don’t want the fighters to get turned on at all, and would rather they just hurt and hate until the very end.

Here are the answers we got:

(Keep in mind, some answers were either great but non-responsive, or omitted, so check out the original post if you have the time)

snw: I would say that  each of them know each are pretty hot especially if the fight is over a guy. Part of the fight would be to show which is the hotter girl and cause him to desire herself over the other. I prefer the girl who is in the best shape with the best body is the winner.  So if that girl is controlling the fight,  begins using her nicer body to turn the guy on by showing him how her tits are better, how much better her muscles are and right on down the line. Seeing her boyfriend’s arousal in her dominate performance gets her hot which in turn causes her to be turned on and uses her body to compare herself to the losers beaten body to turn herself on by pressing her boobs to the other girls or into her face. Showing him that her body is so hot and so much better that she she can turn on the other girl even though she was just kicking her ass she’s still able to turn her on despite that. Although she may be turned by the girl she beat she’s still the sexier of the two by dominating her both ways for him more so than herself.  That’s all assuming it is a one sided fight at one point before too much damage is done to the winner.

HankMcCoy02: For me, either options 1 or 2 are a necessity. Between this forum and your own website, there are a whole host of talented writers posting stories in their own respective voices and inimitable style. The stories that are closer to reality, tend to forgo the sexual overtones prevalent in the more “stylised” efforts on the forums. However, I will always favour the hyperbole of sexualised catfight fiction over the more “clinical” descriptions of a real-life encounter. Not because one writing-style is inherently superior to the other, but because the former more closely aligns with my personal tastes and the reason why I frequent the forums.

While I can appreciate a well-written story depicting brutal violence for a piece of quality prose, I will never “enjoy” it the same way I would a story with Sapphic overtones or a theme revolving around sexual jealousy. I know that some of the other posters will dismiss such character arcs as uninspired at best, and clichés at worst. However, I would liken the distinction to that of respective fandoms for MMA and action films. Both depict violence (of a sort), but through a very different lens. As such, they will appeal to their own distinct audience. The MMA fan is looking for skill, technical ability and realism, while the moviegoer wants the opposite – escapism. The moviegoer will accept certain tropes common to the genre in order to be entertained.

When I read a catfight story, I’m indulging a fantasy. I am willing to accept a certain suspension of disbelief to inhabit said fantasy. Like the moviegoer expects to see an explosive-laden finale or thrilling car chase (no matter how implausible or unoriginal), I seek out stories that feature jealous, spiteful woman getting a sexual kick out of a scantily-clad confrontation (even if their motivation would seem trite in the real world). Ultra-realism is not why I’m here.

That’s just my rambling, incoherent two cents, for what it’s worth.

ooreach: one of my favorite is the loss of innocence. Fighting over a man and not knowing why or how it turns sexual. Not really into each other but competing with the other turns into a body vs body battle ending in fighting with what makes a women a women, her breasts and babymaker.

pythonlegs: I would love to weigh in on this. My answer is a mix of answers one and two.

What really gets ME horny is fighting a woman I am attracted to, but neither she nor I let on and I fight as hard and dirty as I can to win.

Then IF I WIN, I grind my crotch into her face, against her will. But as I fuck her face she enjoys it! Then she finishes me off, going the extra mile!

But IF I LOSE, I want her to do the same to me, and as she fucks MY FACE, I start enjoying it and also go that extra mile to get her off!

So it is really a fight first and foremost, but then the loser totally surrenders and admires her conqueror! It is like they say; “To the victor belongs the spoils.” The winner of the match should then be revered and respected!

😉

Greg_UK: I also cross the grey area between liking 1 and 2. Girls I have known in the past confess to getting aroused during a fight, even though they started out not having any horny feelings for the other woman.

It was the act of fighting that releases all the endorphin rush and when they go body to body it just comes out. So, the fight itself turns them on, and they start to find the other desirable.

DFD28: Most definitely 2 or 3.. i tend to just hit back from stories as soon as it drifts toward sexfight or some sort of mix between it and catfights. (I.e. hateful fuckfights… whatever that means)

Apart from the ones where they strictly say sexfight from the get go, or the setting for story is that the two ‘agreed’ explicitly to see who can make the other cum first, i often find the transition from catfight to sexfights a bit awkward for the most of the time. A minute ago you were ripping hair and slapping the faces out of hatred and jealosy, and the next minute you begin kissing? One could argue it’s just an extension of competition and rivarly to another domain, but i feel like it inevitably weakens the initial momentum of hatred/jealousy & the reasoning why they were ‘fighting’ in the first place.

deity17313: 3 id say. 1 and 2 dont seem as realistic and lose some of the elements of what makes a catfight a catfight.
